Do Travel Agents Sell easyJet and RyanAir Flights?
The low cost carriers or no frills airlines tend not to offer travel agents any commission for selling their tickets. Some travel agent websites do however offer low cost airline tickets. We've found that Gate62.com list easyJet flights.

Credit Card Surcharges and Buying Online
We recommend that if you buy any travel products use a credit card, not a debit card. This is because under the Consumer Credit Act 1974, credit cards offer a level of protection if things go wrong. The downside of using a credit card is that travel websites often charge for using a credit card. Opodo charge a credit card fee of 2% on the total cost of your booking.

Consumers who buy a traditional package holiday from a tour operator - with flights, and hotel accommodation included are protected by The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tour Regulations 1992. These state that a tour operator must make sure that your holiday money is protected through bonding, and that arrangements must be made to repatriate you if the operator becomes insolvent while you are away (many operators and travel agents are bonded via their ABTA membership).
Associtation of British Travel Agents (ABTA)
Travel Trust Association (TTA)

Flight inclusive package holidays have to be protected by an ATOL, which is a guarantee that if the Operator collapses a refund will be made, and if the consumer is overseas, the consumer will be able to return with no added expense. ATOL protection on flight only (charter and scheduled) purchases is only provided when a consumer buys their ticket through a travel agent and does not receive their ticket immediately (or within 24 hours of giving your money if you book by telephone or post).

Buying Direct from the Airline
There is generally no ATOL protection when a consumer buys a ticket direct from the airline on the internet or from a so called 'bucket shop' where a consumer receives their ticket immediately.
